Greater Treasure Beach Area – Pilot Project

Since the summer of 2016, we at Do Good Jamaica have partnered with Breds Treasure Beach Foundation to provide additional support to early childhood institutions in the Greater Treasure Beach area through a Crayons Count special pilot project.

For many years, Breds Treasure Beach Foundation has been working with these thirteen (13) early childhood institutions. Numerous stakeholders – such as community members, foundations, non-governmental organizations, multilateral and aid agencies, companies and individuals (Jamaicans here and in the Diaspora and visitors) – have invested in these schools.

Our objective is to work in partnership with stakeholders to assist the schools to improve the overall quality of early childhood education.  We seek to provide assistance with learning tools, teacher workshops and infrastructure repairs/upgrades, and share lessons learned with early childhood stakeholders here and overseas.

NOTE: While many of the identified needs also assist the schools in their quest to achieve certification from the Early Childhood Commission (ECC), the decision to certify or not is the sole discretion of the ECC.

You can help in cash, kind or with your time.  For more details, see our page How To Help
