The American Chambers of Commerce (AMCHAMs), outside the territorial United States, are non-profit, independent associations formed by US business people and nationals who do business with the United States. AMCHAM is affiliated to the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America (COCUSA) in Washington DC, the largest federated business organization in the world, with offices in 65 countries. AMCHAMs work closely with the government of the host country, to facilitate investment and trade.

The US Chamber of Commerce, in Washington, DC (USCOC) and the Association of American Chambers of Commerce of Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). These relationships provide you with unparallel access to a vast network of companies which belong to the 106 AMCHAMS around the globe; and to over 20,000 companies represented by AACCLA, in the Region.

Eligibility Criteria

Only open to members of the Chamber.

Cost Of Registration

Local Companies with Annual Sales

 - Less than and up to JA$5.5M (US$ 360)

 - Between JA$5.5M and J$10M (US$ 720)

 - More than J$10M (US$ 1,080)

Cororate Membership

 - Consisting of holding company and up to four subsidiaries (US$ 1,320)

Overseas Companies with Annual Sales

 - Less than and up to US100,000 (US$ 360)

 - Greater than US$100,000 (US$ 720)

Individual Membership - Local and Overseas

 - Available only to those retired and unemployed (US$ 240)

GCT of 17.5 % is to be applied.

Process Of Registration

  1. Open to all persons locally and internationally.
  2. Call in or contact via website for information and/or appointment.
  3. A Public Relations Pack is prepared with information and Benefits/Services, and Membership Application sent to the company via e-mail, messenger or postal mail.
  4. Companies fill out Membership Application Form send it back with a cheque.
  5. Application goes to AMCHAM Board of Directors meeting for approval.
  6. Companies need to be registered in good standing.
