The Mustard Seed Communities will feed 5,000 on Christmas Day in continuance of a 17-year tradition of delivering meals and toys to inner-city children and golden-agers on Christmas Day. In 2012 approximately 5,000 persons benefitted from the day’s activities. This year Mustard Seed Communities will serve residents from the communities of Seivwright Gardens, Trench Town and Rema. Over 100 volunteers will support the event. Volunteers from the Jamaica Defence Force and Rotary Club of Trafalgar New Heights will also support the event.

In 1995, Monsignor Gregory Ramkissoon, founder and Executive Director of Mustard Seed Communities initiated the inner-city Christmas outreach project which has now become a Mustard Seed tradition. Several local companies, agencies and private individuals continue to assist the programme by donating food items and toys in the spirit of Christ-like giving and sharing in the true spirit of Christmas.
